Bound in Concrete: The Photobook and the City

During Michael Wolf’s exhibition at the Fondazione Stelline in Milan in May 2018, I gave a talk focusing on Wolf’s publishing practice and in particular his impressive output with the Berlin-based publisher Peperoni Books, culminating in Michael Wolf: Works, published in 2017. The talk considered the topic of the city as one of the quintessential subjects of the photobook and some of the outstanding examples of books that study, analyze, interpret or even (re)invent the city.
