Romain Urhausen
(Paris: delpire & co, 2022)
First monograph devoted to the photography of the Luxembourg artist, Romain Urhausen, from the 1950s and 1960s. His work is distinguished by its singular style between the French humanist school and the German subjective school. Indeed, he was one of the most active representatives of the “Subjektive Fotografie” movement.
It contains graphic works, often captured using experimental techniques: high contrast, solarization, and reverse tone printing. The book also contains his photos of Les Halles, originally published in 1963 and accompanied by a text by Jacques Prévert.
